About the Event:
The Inter-American Development Bank's Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF) and Women's World Banking (WWB) in collaboration with the FELABAN, the Latin American bank federation and its Argentine chapter is organizing a one-day seminar on the entry of commercial banks into microfinance.
Latin American financial institutions will share their experiences of developing business models to reach microentrepreneurs with products and services tailored to their needs. Different panels will cover topics such as:
- The trend of an increasing number of commercial banks entering microfinance in Latin America;
- The business models and strategies banks in Latin America are using to target this segment;
- Key success indicators to provide profitable credit and savings services to microentrepreneurs;
- The regulatory framework needed to encourage the development of the microfinance industry in Argentina.
